Kane has a thing for flip-phones ...

He thinks the sound of the phone flipping shut is The Greatest Game Ever. I didn't have my contacts in at the time, and no glasses, so there's one part where he catches a whiff of the milk bone Cecil (the dog I was house-sitting for) left by the couch, which I didn't realize was there until after Kane had begun to chow down on it. I recommend turning the sound off to avoid me giggling my fool head off.

Are you sure he's a pit bull?

Today, I went to Petsmart to get Kane some more of the carrot&pumpkin, wheat&soy-free biscuits that he loves and that I like because I can break them into small pieces and they don't get stale if I slack on training. (Oops, I forgot I took his collar off in the house and didn't realize it until I got there, so he got to wear his old harness instead; omg, it was on its very last hole! *weeps for the puppy Kane once was*)

It was a fairly typical Petsmart experience for us, re: comments&questions. If I had a dollar for every time I heard at least one of these comments from someone, I wouldn't have to work anymore.

-Aw, look at that sweet face.
-He's so handsome/pretty/cute!
-Is he a boxer?
-He sure is friendly for a pit bull!
-How old is he?
-What's his name?
-He's smaller than other pits I've seen.
-Are you sure he's a pit bull?
-Aw, look at how he's sitting for a treat/pet.
-I love his nose!
-How did you train him to sit?

Bonus today: I got a number from a cute guy who thinks it's hot when girls have pit bulls. But I won't call it because that creeps me out, lol.

It always amazes me how ignorant people are about pit bulls. I've had Kane for a little over a year and I don't think I will ever get used to some of the crazy questions I get asked, that the owner of another dog breed would never hear.

I think it would be a lot easier if Kane was a 100lb vicious behemoth and lunged/growled/barked/snarled at anything that moved because at least people would expect that.
